November Ramblings on Giving Thanks!

What Are You Thankful For?

I am thinking about thankfulness for many reasons this month! I am thankful for my family, my work, my friends, and all the resources I have to share with others. What an opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus by being truly thankful and sharing our joy with others! I am thinking about this because it is very easy to fall into the pattern of the world by being critical and negative and see our lives as rooted in scarcity rather than abundance. We can model this sense of abundance and that what we have right now is MORE than enough and in fact is enough to share with others. As we move toward Thanksgiving and Advent we can start to think how we could encourage our youth to share what they have…their time, talents, treasure and testimonies about how there is always enough to give to others. We will be working on this in our gatherings and I look forward to hearing the YT kids’ creative ideas.

A special word of thanks to the 6 hearty YT members that helped with St. Michael’s “Safe Passage” Car Wash! It was a little chilly but they really helped the group wash a bunch of cars and raise almost $300.00 for an important mission for the children of Guatemala. Would you like more information on the group and their work? Individuals and families are welcome to join in on the trip and important work! www.safepassage.org
